The Small Animal Rescue Society of BC is a registered society run by volunteers. Our primary focus is to rescue and rehome small animals in need. Neglected, injured and abandoned animals are our main priority.
Small Animal Rescue works to provide a safe haven for small animals in need while promoting responsible pet guardianship through education, advocacy, and spay/neuter initiatives.
Read some stories of special rescues and learn more about the work that we do.

on banning the sale of un-sterilized rabbits in pet stores.
Or call in to leave a comment…better yet, suggest a complete ban on all sales.

All the best on your special day!!
and we’d like to thank the bride & grooms to be:
Agnes who donated money raised at her bridal shower towards the medical needs of our chinchillas. Her donation will be used for Hergone the chinchilla.
Mike, Sabrina & Chico who made a donation and have asked family and friends to donate towards our medical fund in lieu of wedding gifts. Their donation will be used for Forrest – the bunny.

Sadly today people still *choose* to buy & wear fur.
Fluvog’s justification for using it on their boots:
The truth is, there is a large industry of raising rabbits for gourmet food in France and in Italy, totally separate from the shoe leather industry. In most cases, the fur pelts from this industry, are thrown away. The rabbits are raised only for the meat, and then discarded. We use the rabbit fur as a mean of recycling materials that would ordinarily get disposed off, and never used. This goes along with our mantra of “good soles leave small footprints.”

Help find us a home.
Meet Bunjour & Cypress. This lovely pair of dutch dwarfs need a caring forever home.
They have already been through so much so it’s time to find them a home where they will be safe and loved. As you can see by his little blue cast, someone dropped Bunjour and broke his leg in 2 places.
He has been to the vet and his leg is on the mend. Bunnies are very fragile and thus we want to make sure we help this pair find a caring home that will never let them be hurt again.
If you would like more information on this lovely couple, please email us at info@smallanimalrescue.org.
Thank you to everyone who donated their returnables, pennies and Canadian Tire money. Also a BIG thanks to all of our volunteers who came by to help sort….many hands made light work.
We had a great day and the rain even stayed away. We look forward to seeing you at our next drive in October.

Thank you for taking the money away from the animals!
We would like to thank our government for increasing our costs by 7%.
All of our vet care costs will now INCREASE by 7%…….so where do we come up with the extra money…..does that mean 7% less food, 7% less bedding????
